Cook Time: 45 mins
Servings: 9

Ingredients

Apple Filling:
7-8 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
⅓ cup Saharan Sustenance Date Syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg

Crisp Topping:
⅓ cup whole wheat flour (or flour of your choice)
½ cup old fashioned rolled oats
⅓ cup Saharan Sustenance Date Sugar
3 TBS Saharan Sustenance Date Syrup
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup cold butter

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Use butter to lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
Make Filling: Put apples, date syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl and combine. Let sit for 5-10 minutes while you make the topping.
Make Topping: Combine flour, oats, date sugar, cinnamon and salt.
Stir in date syrup (clumps will form--this is normal and good).
Cut in cold butter until crumble begins to form.
Drain liquid from the apple mixture then add filling to pan and top with crumble.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until topping is golden brown and filling is bubbling.
